The Founding Partner's core Message

Companies do have a choice...
..to continue reacting from crisis to crisis, trapped in recurring restructuring cycles, or build a fundamentally different system designed for long-term resilience and sustainable performance.
At GAOEXPERTS, we lead holistic business transformations that create the foundation for operational excellence, organizational alignment, and continuous improvement across the entire enterprise. Our approach goes far beyond short-term cost reduction — we develop the capabilities, leadership behaviors, and management systems required to continuously strengthen competitiveness and resilience in an increasingly volatile world.
What truly differentiates our approach is that the transformation is built together with your people. We systematically develop employees, leaders, and teams into active drivers of improvement, enabling the organization to sustain and further evolve the system independently long after the transformation itself has been completed.

Biography of the Founding Partner

Dirk Fischer
Founding Partner, GAOEXPERTS
Executive Transformation Leader for Holistic Business Excellence
Dirk Fischer is the Founding Partner of GAOEXPERTS and an experienced CEO/COO-level transformation executive with more than three decades of leadership experience in international automotive and industrial manufacturing environments.
His professional background combines operational turnaround leadership, Toyota Production System expertise, restructuring experience, global operations management, product development transformation, purchasing, supply chain optimization and enterprise-wide value creation.
Dirk’s core belief is simple:
Good leadership creates a framework in which cross-functional collaboration leads to holistic business improvement rather than local pseudo-optimization.
This philosophy is the foundation of the GAOEXPERTS approach to Holistic Business Excellence.
Dirk has repeatedly demonstrated that operational excellence is not a collection of Lean tools, isolated workshops or local efficiency programs. It is a business system. A system that must improve EBITDA, cash flow, working capital, delivery performance, quality, productivity and enterprise value.
His track record is particularly relevant for shareholders, CEOs and Private Equity firms because it is not defined by theoretical transformation concepts, but by measurable business results.
During his seven years at Huf Group, a global automotive supplier with approximately €1.1 billion sales and around 6,500 employees, Dirk held COO and interim CEO responsibilities and led global operations transformation in a highly demanding restructuring environment. Reporting to shareholders and the Board of Directors, he was responsible for global operations across Europe, the Americas, China and India, as well as quality, purchasing, supply chain management, industrial engineering, digitalization, production system development and launch management.
His value creation impact included:
- major global operations restructuring in close collaboration with CEO and CRO,
- a reduction in its global footprint by 8 locations and approximately 4,000 employees, while revenue remained unchanged,
- significant shift from high-cost to best-cost manufacturing locations,
- cumulative cost savings in the triple-digit million Euro range over 5 years,
- EBITDA margin improvement from low single digits to sustainable double-digit performance,
- annual cost savings in operations equivalent to 2–3% of revenue through the Huf Production System,
- material cost ratio reduction of approximately 2 percentage points through vertical integration and strategic insourcing,
- reduction of net working capital to approximately 6% of revenue,
- inventory reduction of approximately 40% versus 2018,
- and a reduction of the net debt / EBITDA ratio by approximately 70% in 2025.
Beyond operations, Dirk also played a central role in enterprise-wide transformation. He led or influenced critical value creation processes across commercial management, product development, program management, purchasing and global operations. In 2025, he additionally assumed executive responsibility for Product Development and Purchasing, further integrating the company’s end-to-end operating model.
He was instrumental in rebuilding credibility with banks, investors and key stakeholders during the restructuring process and played a pivotal role in the successful investor process and transaction closing in May 2025.
This combination of operational depth, restructuring discipline and stakeholder credibility makes Dirk highly relevant for companies facing performance pressure, footprint complexity, high working capital, weak launch performance, margin erosion or transformation fatigue.
Before Huf, Dirk held several senior executive and interim leadership roles in automotive suppliers including SAM Automotive, SHW Automotive, TI Automotive, SAS Automotive Systems, Erhard Automotive and Siebe Automotive. His experience covers businesses from mid-sized manufacturing companies to global automotive suppliers with billions of euros in revenue, complex international footprints and demanding OEM customer environments.
Throughout his career, Dirk has consistently focused on transforming fragmented organizations into integrated performance systems. His approach combines:
- Toyota Production System principles,
- Theory of Constraints thinking,
- Gemba leadership,
- shop floor management,
- value stream design,
- launch management,
- product development system design,
- supply chain excellence,
- restructuring execution,
- and financial impact tracking.
What differentiates Dirk is his ability to connect strategic transformation with operational execution.
He does not approach transformation as a PowerPoint exercise.
He approaches transformation where value is created: at the Gemba, in the plants, in cross-functional management routines, in product development, in supply chain execution, in purchasing decisions, and in the leadership system of the organization.
For Dirk, Holistic Business Excellence means creating a business system in which all functions work together to improve total company performance — not local KPIs.
This is especially important for Private Equity firms, shareholders and CEOs who need transformation to deliver visible and sustainable results in:
- EBITDA,
- cash flow,
- working capital,
- balance sheet quality,
- delivery performance,
- operational resilience,
- and enterprise value.
Dirk also strongly believes that sustainable transformation must be built together with the client’s employees. Real performance improvement is not achieved by external experts working around the organization. It is achieved by developing leaders, managers, engineers and shop floor teams into stronger problem solvers who can continue improving the business after the transformation program has ended.
This is why capability building is a core element of the GAOEXPERTS philosophy.
The objective is not consultant dependency.
The objective is organizational strength.
With GAOEXPERTS, Dirk brings this experience to companies that need more than advice. They need leadership, execution, operational depth, financial discipline and sustainable capability building.
